I don’t know much about our down-under cousins, but apparently they were in the clothing business. I’ve found advertisements going back to the 1940s. Where were you in 1968?

Well, in 1968, I was 21 years old living in Sioux City, Iowa. I was married and had two small children, Lisa, my daughter and Shannon, my son. I worked at a downtown hotel as an elevator operator for a short time. At the age of 21, my marriage was floundering and I was about to become a single parent.

That ad is hilarious! In 1968, I was in the 8th grade in Enosburg Falls, Vermont. I remember those hip and happenin’ ads well.
This was one of my earliest posts – I had just disovered the Trove (National Library of Australia) website, and wanted to introduce the Australian branch of the Casben family. We must be about the same age. I had some cool bell-bottoms (but no Casben shorts).
